- 8.30am INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME (Stacey Lloyd)

1 9.00am WHERE DID MY MOJO GO? – a discussion of self, expectations, goals and direction

In this workshop participants will explore and be immersed in the world of MOJO- what is it, have I got it, where did mine go?

11.00am MORNING TEA IN DINING HALL
2 11.30am USING MIND MAPPING TO ENHANCE THERAPEUTIC EFFECTIVENESS.

This workshop will explore how we can use client narratives to enhance our therapeutic interventions and outcomes with clients. We will also look at applying techniques of concept and mind mapping into practice.

1.00pm LUNCH
2.00pm A MINDFULNESS RELAXATION PROCESS TO GET YOU THROUGH THE AFTERNOON
3 2.15pm EFFECTIVE NOTE TAKING FOR COUNSELLING PROFESSIONALS (Stacey Lloyd)

Stacey will explore both theoretical as well as practical tools to increase effectiveness for counsellors in their note taking of client sessions; whilst taking into account legal (ie subpoenas), ethical (confidentiality) and legislative (privacy act) requirements.

Day 2 –

4 7.45am YOGA for one hour (Lana Slivar)

Yoga is offered as part of your conference package to assist participants to relax and detoxify levels of stress present prior to this session. The yoga session will be at a beginner’s level and be an hour in duration.

5 9.00am BRAIN AND BEHAVIOUR

Stacey will discuss the functions, physiology and workings of the brain and how the brain interacts and influences our emotions and behaviour.

11.00am MORNING TEA
6 11.30am WORKING WITH THE ANXIOUS CLIENT

This session will allow participants to explore the theory of anxiety including DSM criteria and learn skills of how to work effectively with the anxious client.

1.30pm LUNCH
1.45pm ANOTHER MINDFULNESS RELAXATION BREAK..
7 2.00pm USING ART THERAPY TO WORK WITH GRIEF AND LOSS

This hands on workshop will enable you to gain or refresh your understanding of grief and loss and how to apply art therapy techniques as a way of working in the grief and loss context.

8 4.00pm BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER..

To conclude your experience and participation in the Counsellor Camp Conference, we will lead a brief and relaxed discussion to consolidate what you have learnt at the Camp; and how it will inform and transform your practice. So, you achieve not only experiential experiences and information from the Camp but also a ‘mind retreat’ and relaxation over the past two days.
